THAI CP FOODS GROUP EXECS VISIT AGSUR, SET TO INVEST ON SWINE, POULTRY, CORN PRODUCTION

The Chairman and President of Charoen Pokphand Foods-Philippines, Mr. Sakol Cheewakoset led the global company’s top executives to a courtesy visit to Agusan del Sur and engaged in a technical exchange of proposals with Gov. Santi Cane, Cong, Eddiebong Plaza and Cong. Alfel Bascug at the Office of the Governor.

The exchange of courtesies was witnessed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members led by Vice Governor Sammy Tortor, department heads of PGAS, swine breeders, and ASSCAT President Joy Capistrano.

During the meeting, the Thai food conglomerate announced its decision of putting up breeder farms for swine and poultry, and feed mills leading to the establishment of an integrated agro-industrial and food business in Agusan del Sur. The envisioned hub will provide a vital complement to its growing Cagayan de Oro and General Santos City operations in livestock, aquaculture and food processing.

Gov. Santi Cane and Cong Eddiebong Plaza discussed in detail to Mr. Cheewakoset and his investment team how PGAS can help the company in all facets of its investment roll-out. CP group finds Agusan del Sur as a great fit for its modernized farm operations noting the province’s state of the art soils laboratory, its vast agricultural potential, highly-educated workforce, and stable political leadership.

Mr. Cheewakoset and his COO had a preliminary discussion with ASSCAT President Joy Capistrano and Dr Johnvie Goloran on how to facilitate knowledge exchange and science learning between the company’s scientists and researchers with the academe and the farmers who will provide local manpower support. 💚
