Bishop Labajo visits ASSCAT

Fresh from presiding over the requiem mass for the late Pope Francis at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, Most Reverend Ruben C. Labajo, D.D., Bishop of Prosperidad, made a pastoral visit to the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) today, April 29, 2025.

Though brief, the visit made an impact. Bishop Labajo was welcomed by College President Joy C. Capistrano, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto, Vice President for Administration, Finance, and Planning Ms. Janice S. Dini-ay, and members of the ASSCAT administrative staff.

Smiles, handshakes, and quiet conversations marked the moment. Bishop Labajo shared words of encouragement, reminding those present of the value of faith, compassion, and service in the work that schools do every day.

In the middle of a day filled with reflection and prayer, his stop at ASSCAT was a reminder that leadership, whether in the Church or in education, is always about people.
