Following the conclusion of the CHED Composite Team’s three-day validation visit, key findings were presented during the Exit Meeting and Presentation of Compliance Validation. The team acknowledged significant progress made by the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) toward its conversion to Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU) under Republic Act No. 11586. However, certain areas of compliance remain to be addressed.
Highlighted challenges include the number of qualified faculty members and registered guidance counselors—issues the CHED Composite Team noted are not unique to ASSCAT but are common among state colleges transitioning to university status.
Despite these challenges, CHED Caraga Region and the Composite Team commended ASSCAT for its best practices and agility in addressing the requirements for compliance.
The CHED Composite Team assured that their findings would be formally endorsed to the CHED Commission En Banc. They also encouraged ASSCAT to address these requirements at its own pace, with the CHED Technical Team remaining open to reassess compliance anytime.
College President Joy C. Capistrano extended her heartfelt gratitude to the CHED Composite Team’s pool of experts for their thorough assessment and invaluable guidance. She reassured stakeholders of ASSCAT’s unwavering commitment to addressing the findings to the best of its ability.
With emotion, she thanked the entire ASSCAT workforce for their relentless efforts and dedication in rallying behind the institution’s vision of universityhood—a testament to their resilience and shared commitment.
With continued determination, ASSCAT remains steadfast in overcoming these challenges and achieving its dream of becoming Agusan del Sur State University.
