ASSCAT Participates in ACIAR-PCAARRD Agusan del Sur Project Review

ASSCAT, represented by Dr. Fernando Marzo Jr., Vice President for Research, Innovation, Development, and Extension Affairs, actively participated in the recent ACIAR-PCAARRD Agusan del Sur Soil and Land Management Project End of Review. Hosted by the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS), the review was attended by representatives from PCAARRD, Griffith University, CSU, USM, PRRI, and independent reviewers.

The project has provided crucial science-based technologies that have driven the success of the Upland Sustainable Agroforestry Development Program (USAD). ASSCAT’s involvement has been pivotal in developing cost-effective farming solutions and contributing to the betterment of more than 2,000 smallholder farmers in Agusan del Sur.

The review also included a site visit to the Agricultural Research Center in Brgy. Mabuhay, Bayugan City, highlighting the impact of this five-year initiative on the region’s agricultural sustainability and livelihood improvement.
