ASSCAT Students Shine Nationally: Caraga’s Only Winners in Bagong Pilipinas Essay Contest

Today, Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) celebrated the remarkable achievements of three of its students at the PCO CommUnity Campus Caravan Awarding Ceremony, held at the Heritage Hotel, Pasay City. Representing the Caraga Region as regional winners in the Bagong Pilipinas Essay Writing Contest, these talented students stood out among nearly 300 entries from over 100 schools nationwide.

The awardees are:
🏆 1st Place: Jerico Gumapac
đŸ„ˆ 2nd Place: John Nicole Bucane
đŸ„‰ 3rd Place: Rhaiza Mae Banggos

Accompanied by their guardians and school representative, Mr. Clyde Macascas, the students joined winners from other categories—Spoken Word Poetry, Songwriting, Mural Painting, and Filmmaking—in a ceremony that brought together top talents from across the nation.

ASSCAT College President Dr. Joy Capistrano and Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Janice Dini-ay expressed their pride in the students’ achievements, highlighting ASSCAT’s commitment to fostering talent and creativity. As Caraga’s sole winners, these students have brought honor to the ASSCAT community and underscored the institution’s dedication to excellence.
